“The stories that visit me are timeless”

Born and raised in downtown Guayaquil Ecuador with Lebanese roots. I was not much into sports so I spend a lot of days watching through my room window what happened outside on the streets and sidewalks. At that time 1980-90's it was safe to go out by myself to explore the streets. At 14 I found a 35mm canon in my mom's drawers, and I started shooting film mostly at home. I think my photography is the result of my childhood memories and the person I became when I met my wife. Streets tell stories and being able to document them is what I enjoy the most. At 18 I learned to develop film and print in a darkroom, at 21 one I made an improvise darkroom in my bathroom.

I like to document people and spaces at their own silence like old street photography, I think I have a sensibility for shadows, lines and shapes.

Sometime I realize what I have see after i print my photos.

My photography is a document of moments, details or vestiges of those stories. I am just an oblivion spectator with a camera and a personal way of sharing the world. It is not until I revise the images that I understand what I have seen.
